INGREDIENTS

MATCHA BASE

1 tsp matcha powder

2 Tbsp hot water, about 175°F

COCONUT MILK BLEND

1 cup coconut milk (carton for lighter texture or canned for richness)

1/4 cup evaporated milk or coconut cream

1–2 tsp honey, cane syrup, or simple syrup

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch salt

TOASTED COCONUT

2–3 Tbsp shredded coconut, toasted until golden

OPTIONAL GARNISHES

Extra toasted coconut

Whipped cream or coconut whipped cream

Light dusting of matcha powder

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Toast the Coconut

Heat a dry skillet over medium-low heat. Add shredded coconut and stir constantly until golden and fragrant. Remove immediately and allow to cool.

2. Prepare the Matcha

Place matcha powder in a bowl or mug. Add hot water and whisk in a “W” motion until smooth and frothy.

3. Warm the Coconut Milk Blend

In a small pot, combine coconut milk, evaporated milk or coconut cream, sweetener, vanilla, and salt. Warm gently over low heat without boiling.

4. Combine

Whisk 1–2 tablespoons toasted coconut into the warm milk. Pour the coconut milk mixture into the prepared matcha and stir to combine.

5. Serve

Top with toasted coconut, optional whipped cream, and a light sprinkle of matcha. Serve hot or pour over ice for an iced version.
