Manly Man Mike’s Satsuma Old Fashioned | Cajun 911 Cuisine
This Cajun 911 signature Old Fashioned uses homemade satsuma syrup to bring a bright Louisiana citrus twist to a classic bourbon cocktail. Strong, clean, and unapologetically masculine, this drink balances warm oak, silky sweetness, and subtle spice. Built smooth and refined, it’s an Old Fashioned made for sipping slow and with intention.
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE COCKTAIL
2 oz bourbon
1/2 oz Cajun 911 satsuma syrup
2–3 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters, optional
1 large ice cube
GARNISH
Satsuma peel twist
Optional charred satsuma slice
Optional cherry
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Build the Cocktail
Add bourbon, satsuma syrup, Angostura bitters, and optional orange bitters to a mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and silky.
2. Strain
Strain the cocktail over a large ice cube into a rocks glass.
3. Garnish
Express the satsuma peel over the glass to release the oils. Rub the peel around the rim, then drop it into the drink or twist over the top. Add a charred satsuma slice or cherry if desired.
